Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces
Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces runs every June long weekend. Merriwa’s main street comes alive with market stalls, street entertainers, rides, exhibits, competitions and the grand parade – which is headed-up by the famous Running of the Sheep in their red socks.
Saturday festivities continue into the evening, culminating in an exciting fireworks display. This is a fun-packed family event that is not to be missed.
The event focusses on community, family and the rich agricultural history of the region. The festival now attracts in excess of 6,000 visitors.
Stalls are available during the day in the main street from 8am to 3pm and for the evening in the showground from 4pm to 9pm. Stallholders can discuss options with the stallholder organiser.
